Interquest School Services
Roughly 20% of high school aged students report consuming THC , by 12th grade, almost half of students have experimented with alcohol and potential gun violence remains an ongoing concern. Students and staff should feel safe and secure at school, and our mission is to work closely with each campus to add an extra layer to existing school safety protocols.
At Interquest K9, we partner with schools to help maintain safe, distraction-free learning environments where students can focus on their education and future. Our teams provide a proactive tool for identifying concerns before they become larger problems.
All our dogs are trained to detect an array of contraband items, thus eliminating the need to schedule separate inspections with multiple teams that target substances individually. This strategy provides the client with better time utilization in a less intrusive atmosphere.
**Please note: Our dogs do NOT find explosives – a trained explosives dog is required for a bomb search.
Our handlers are employed by Interquest and have received rigorous background checks, licensing and training in both canine handling, searching protocols and drug/contraband identification. All our protocols are based on legal precedents to ensure the campus and staff are fully protected. We never contract our services to outside individuals or agencies.
What does a typical campus visit consist of?
Every campus is different, so we begin by meeting with the designated administrator to understand the goals of the visit and any specific areas of concern. Visits are scheduled for half or full-day blocks, allowing our teams adequate time to achieve those goals.
Our canine teams operate within normal school routines. Lockdowns or special procedures are generally not necessary, and many schools choose to allow students to see the dogs. The presence of a detection dog often serves as positive reminder of the school’s commitment to a save learning environment.
We are not affiliated with law enforcement, and all decisions regarding any items identified during an inspection remain under the authority of school administration. If a dog indicates on an area, our handlers work closely with school personnel and explain the process clearly and respectfully. At the conclusion of each visit, the school receives a detailed report of any inspections conducted.
Our goal is simple: to provide schools with a professional, effective, and minimally disruptive service that supports student safety and well-being.

Once we have communicated with the program coordinator to understand the goals for the visit, we work within half day or full day time frames where we are committed to the site for the designated duration. Our handlers arrive in inconspicuous vehicles to avoid unwanted attention and are always uniformed in standard company attire. Our dogs are friendly and trained to work within normal school operations, lockdowns are never required, in fact it is encouraged to allow students to see the dogs to provide an added layer of deterrence. Our visits are under the direct control and direction of the Program Coordinator, who works with us to determine individual campus needs and goals. While we are not affiliated with law enforcement, the client may deem it necessary to contact them for assistance when appropriate. Our teams work alongside the agency when requested and provide documentation and assistance as needed.
We provide everything from handling the canine, compassionately explaining the process to students identified, conducting physical inspections and identifying potential contraband. In addition, we submit a detailed report to our campus contact of all inspections conducted before departing.
